Weather Research and Forecasting - WRF

The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model is a next-generation mesoscale numerical weather prediction system designed to serve both atmospheric research and operational forecasting needs (www.wrf-model.org). The model serves a wide range of meteorological applications across scales ranging from meters to thousands of kilometers.

The next generation Weather Research and Forecasting model(WRF) will be implemented with two complimentary configurations:

1. The WRF_NMM core will be configured at a resolution of 0.09x0.09 deg (external grid), 0.03x0.03 deg (inner grid) and 38 vertical levels.

2. The WRF_ARW core will be configured at a resolution of 12x12 km (external grid), 4x4 km (inner grid) and 31 vertical levels.
